Shining the light on…Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 Shining the light on…Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20

Next up in this series of exploring products within the Texaco® range, we take a closer look at Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20, a premium performance synthetic heavy duty engine oil that offers a number of benefits to consumers.

What exactly is it?

Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 has been specifically designed to help provide robust protection and optimum fuel economy potential in modern, high performance, low emissions engines employed in severe on-highway applications. The engine oil also features advanced ISOSYN® technology, which uses high performance low sulfated ash, phosphorus, and sulfur (SAPS) additive systems. What’s more, the product meets the latest MAN M3977 requirements for modern diesel engines with diesel particulate filters (DPFs), and helps to meet the latest Euro VI-d emission requirements.

What does this mean for users?

A versatile product suitable for a range of on-highway applications, Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 is a strong choice for commercial vehicle operators. Its formulation has been designed to optimise fuel economy performance, while helping maintain good component wear protection and engine service life. In addition, the product’s low-ash additives help protect  DPFs, exhaust gas recirculation and catalytic converter systems.

Even during cold start-ups in sub-zero temperatures, consumers can benefit from Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 to help them get the job done, thanks to its low viscosity synthetic base oil technology.

For consumers seeking durability and cost-effectiveness, Texaco Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 ticks the box. The product is designed to help minimise wear and scuffing, along with bore polishing and soot dispersancy, helping to reduce maintenance downtime and costs.

Additionally, the engine oil’s high performance additives and base stocks help provide  wear protection and oxidation, as well as sludge and oil thickening control, helping to extend oil drain. On top of this, the product also promotes the effective functioning of engine aftertreatment systems over the entire system‘s lifespan.

On which vehicles should it be used?

The product is recommended for use in the latest generation MAN trucks and buses requiring MAN M3977 approved engine oils, on-highway light and heavy-duty trucks, and vehicles equipped with modern heavy-duty engines that are fitted with DPFs, in line with the owner’s manual recommendations.

However, consumers must be aware that Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 may not be used in engines requiring older or other specifications of engine oil since this can cause engine issues. With this in mind, commercial vehicle operators should always refer to the vehicle owners’ manual handbook to establish whether the oil can be used in their vehicle.

Have any manufacturers approved of its use?

Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-20 meets the performance specifications for MAN trucks and buses requiring MAN M3977 approved engine oils such as (a) vehicle types E, F, J & K with D26 and D38 engines equipped with EGR & SCR+CRT and (b) D2676 and D3876 engines*.
